Home      The rewire process

  • Rewiring a house is an invasive process, requiring floor boards to be lifted, walls to be chased out and filled, etc. It is possible to fit surface mounted trucking but this does not look good when used on a large scale, and will certainly devalue your property.

  • Once complete, a general redecoration of the property will be needed.

  • The best time to do this work is when the property is empty and unfurnished. This greatly simplifies the work and hence results in the lowest cost.

  • It is possible to do it while occupied, but this will require significant cooperation from the occupier to move possessions and furniture, and there will be a good deal of disruption. Typically work will progress through vertical slices of the property (e.g. a ground floor room, and the room above it).
